the University of G\u00f6ttingen's experimental farms, <strong>adaptation strategies in crop rotation and fertilization are being investigated and translated into modeling approaches to enable the scaling of the trial results to a higher natural spatial scale.<\/strong> The changes in soil nutrient supply resulting from the restrictions of the fertilizer regulation and the associated changes in the composition of the food produced will also be examined in more detail. <strong>The consequences of climate change<\/strong> and extreme weather events will also be considered on a model basis.<\/p><p>Innovations in the field of <strong>Precision Farming<\/strong>which have only become possible through the increased use of artificial intelligence, autonomous robotics, and machine learning, <strong>will be examined for their potential to mitigate the effects of production restrictions<\/strong> on productivity and in terms of acceptance for products produced using regionally need to be fed, which will require an additional 250 million tons of protein per year. <strong>This initial project aims to overcome the challenges of extracting protein from grassland plants, especially from ryegrass.<\/strong> It aims to lay the necessary foundations for the sustainable use of grass protein in human nutrition and for use in the food industry to provide structure. <strong>The project at the German Institute of Food Technology (DIL) is investigating fundamental scientific questions for a process to extract techno-functional proteins from grassland plants.<\/strong> Four interdisciplinary sub-projects at the DIL are working together to analyze all process steps from the laboratory to the pilot plant level.<\/p><p>Particular attention is being paid to protein yield and quality, economic efficiency, and a positive life cycle assessment. <strong>Food chemists, laboratory assistants, technologists, and technicians are coordinating the experiments and analyses<\/strong>in order to thoroughly investigate and optimize each step from extraction to the use of grass protein in functional foods.<\/p><p><a aim of the ZERN initial project \"Future-orientated fattening pig husbandry\" is the scientific examination of <strong>forward-looking and socially accepted husbandry systems for fattening pigs with bedding and free-range housing<\/strong>. In this project, these housing systems are analysed and evaluated holistically. Issues from the fields of animal welfare and animal health, animal ethics, animal nutrition, meat and product quality, as well as economics are addressed. Insbesondere die Proteingewinnung stellt eine <strong>technologische Herausforderung<\/strong> dar, da es <strong>keine etablierte Extraktionsverfahren<\/strong> gibt und aufgrund der hohen Gehalte an Polyphenolen und antinutritiven Substanzen.<\/p><p>Protein extraction in particular poses a technological challenge, as there are no established extraction methods and due to the high content of polyphenols and antinutritional substances. <strong>This research project is developing a scalable, sustainable process for extracting protein from nettles.<\/strong>The yield and quality of the nettle protein is to be optimized by integrating modern separation and stabilization technologies, such as pretreatment with pulsed electric fields (PEF) and innovative extraction and separation techniques.<\/p><p class=\"translation-block\">Particular attention is being paid to the <strong>complete utilization of the plant<\/strong>. In the field of grassland use, a <a href=\"https:\/\/zern-verbund.de\/en\/themenbereiche-2\/themenbereich-gruenland\/https-zern-verbund-de-themenbereiche-2-themenbereich-gruenland-ip1\/\" target=\"_self\">project at the German Institute for Food Technology (DIL)<\/a>  is investigating fundamental scientific questions for a process for <strong>extracting techno-functional proteins from grassland plants<\/strong>. However, reducing greenhouse gases is complex in this area. The livestock sector is a major contributor to greenhouse gas emissions and significantly contributes to agriculture's impact on the climate. In Germany, agriculture is responsible for 8% of national greenhouse gas emissions, with 42% attributable to livestock farming (BMEL, 2024). In addition, the agricultural sector causes 75% of national methane emissions, which are mainly produced by the digestive processes of cattle. Lower Saxony, a region with intensive livestock farming, produces 22.4% of Germany's milk (BZL, 2024), highlighting the central role of the dairy sector in the state's emissions profile.<\/p><p class=\"translation-block\">This project focuses on strategies for reducing greenhouse gases in Lower Saxony's dairy sector and aims to provide farmers with information and solutions to support climate-friendly practices in the region.\nSuitable climate protection measures that farmers are both willing and able to implement are analyzed and then communicated to farmers using appropriate information strategies. The goal of the project is to link research findings with concrete, agriculture-related practices that bring economic, ecological, and social benefits. The project is supplemented by an experimental pilot study on the practical use of alternative protein sources in the teaching kitchen (G\u00f6ttingen).<\/p><p>The aim is to <strong>develop and implement target group-oriented communication strategies for the TikTok<\/strong> platform. This should contribute to evidence-based and low-threshold consumer information in the digital space while increasing the visibility of the ZERN network.<\/p><p><strong>Planned measures\u00a0<\/strong><\/p><p><strong>1.)<\/strong> Conducting three online surveys (approx. 1,000 people each, representative of the population in terms of age and gender) <br \/><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Topics<\/span> <br \/>- Consumption and attitude patterns toward non-alcoholic beer <br \/>- Perception and use of high-protein products <br \/>- Knowledge, trust, and motives for use in relation to dietary supplements <br \/><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Objective:<\/span> To generate evidence-based insights into the relevance and perception of these trends among various target groups (especially 18\u201335 year olds).<\/p><p><strong>2.)<\/strong> Pilot study with qualitative data collection: Use of alternative protein sources in the teaching kitchen <br \/><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Objective:<\/span> Practical test of the acceptance and preparability of plant-based or alternative proteins (e.g., legumes, fermentation products) with students. <br \/>- Recording sensory, practical, and communicative aspects <br \/>- Observation of reactions, feedback, spontaneous language (\u201cWhat goes down well?\u201d) <br \/>- Utilization of content as narrative and visual source material for TikTok<\/p><p><strong>3.)<\/strong> Derivation and testing of a TikTok communication strategy <br \/>Based on the survey results, a storytelling and format concept will be developed that presents evidence-based content in a visually and narratively appealing way for TikTok. Im Fokus steht das neu\u00a0 zu etablierende <strong>Citizen Lab<\/strong> als Outreach-Format, das gezielt \u00f6ffentliche R\u00e4ume wie Fu\u00dfg\u00e4ngerzonen nutzt, um Wissenschaft unmittelbar in den Alltag der B\u00fcrger*innen zu bringen.<\/p><p>Mit einem interaktiven, niedrigschwelligen Zugang werden Passantinnen eingeladen, sich durch Verkostungen, Mitmach-Experimente und **Gespr\u00e4che mit Wissenschaftlerinnen** mit pflanzlichen Proteinquellen auseinanderzusetzen. Das Citizen Lab 2.0 adressiert Menschen au\u00dferhalb formaler Bildungssettings und m\u00f6chte auf spielerisch-informative Weise zu reflektierten Entscheidungen im Bereich Ern\u00e4hrung und Nachhaltigkeit anregen \u2013 ohne zu bewerten oder zu missionieren.<\/p><p><strong>Planned measures\u00a0<\/strong> <br \/>Im Projektzeitraum sollen zwei Citizen Lab 2.0-Veranstaltungen an stark frequentierten \u00f6ffentlichen Orten in Osnabr\u00fcck und in Quakenbr\u00fcck (z.\u202fB. Innenstadt) durchgef\u00fchrt werden. Ziel ist es, jeweils rund 100 B\u00fcrger*innen direkt und niederschwellig mit wissenschaftlichen Inhalten zur nachhaltigen Ern\u00e4hrung in Kontakt zu bringen. Geplant sind folgende Ma\u00dfnahmen: <br \/>\u2022 <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Verkostungsstationen<\/span>: Vergleich von pflanzlichen und tierischen Produkten zur sensorischen Selbsterfahrung; Teilnehmer*innen bewerten Geschmack, Textur und Akzeptanz unterschiedlicher Proteinquellen. <br \/>\u2022 <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Einfache Mitmach- und Einsch\u00e4tzexperimente zu pflanzlichen Proteinen<\/span>: <br \/>o Schaumbildung mit H\u00fclsenfr\u00fcchten (Aquafaba): Aufschlagen von Kichererbsenwasser veranschaulicht die technofunktionellen Eigenschaften pflanzlicher Proteine im Vergleich zu tierischen Alternativen. <br \/>o Aminos\u00e4uren-Puzzle: Ein Memory- oder Puzzlespiel zeigt spielerisch, wie sich durch <br \/>Kombination verschiedener pflanzlicher Quellen (z.\u202fB. Erbse + Getreide) ein vollst\u00e4ndiges Aminos\u00e4ureprofil erreichen l\u00e4sst. <br \/>\u2022 <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Dialogformate mit Wissenschaftler*innen<\/span>: Niedrigschwellige Gespr\u00e4che zur \u00f6kologischen Bilanz verschiedener Proteinquellen (z.\u202fB. Im Mittelpunkt steht dabei der ZERN-Verbund selbst, seine Partner*innen sowie die laufenden Projekte, Aktivit\u00e4ten und Ergebnisse. Auf diese Weise kann gleichzeitig ein Beitrag zu den drei weiteren Unterzielen des ZERN-Verbundes geleistet werden, da sowohl Akteur*innen der landwirtschaftlichen Produktion, der Verarbeitung und Vermarktung wie auch aus dem Bereich der Schnittstelle mit Verbraucher*innen eingebunden werden, um in den Zukunftstalks ihre Perspektiven, ihre Forschung oder ihre L\u00f6sungsans\u00e4tze, z.B. Produkte oder innovative Herstellungsmethoden, vorzustellen. Das Projekt erm\u00f6glicht somit die aktive Vernetzung der Branche und die Sichtbarmachung von Schnittstellen und Kooperationsm\u00f6glichkeiten.<\/p><p>Es zahlt hierdurch erheblich auf den Transfer zwischen Wissenschaft, Wirtschaft und Verbraucher*innen ein und st\u00e4rkt die Zukunftsf\u00e4higkeit der nieders\u00e4chsischen Ern\u00e4hrungswirtschaft, die nach dem Fahrzeugbau der zweitwichtigste Wirtschaftszweig in Niedersachsen ist. <strong>Es sind insgesamt 8 ZERN-Zukunftstalks geplant, die in einem monatlichen Rhythmus stattfinden sollen<\/strong>, z.B. an jedem ersten Donnerstag im Monat, und die live aus dem Teaching Kitchen im Sportpark Jahnstadion in G\u00f6ttingen gesendet werden.<\/p><p>The <strong>Teaching Kitchen wird zu diesem Zweck in ein Fernsehstudio umgebaut<\/strong>, das bestm\u00f6glich f\u00fcr Live-Webinare ausger\u00fcstet ist. Dabei k\u00f6nnen drei verschiedene Kameraperspektiven (K\u00fcchenansicht\/Totale, Kochfeld, Schneidbrett) professionell <br \/>genutzt werden. Das Teaching Kitchen im Sportpark Jahnstadion wird von unserem Kooperationspartner Culinary Medicine Deutschland e.V. betrieben.<\/p><p>In jeder der 8 Einheiten des ZERN-Zukunftstalks wird (mindestens) <strong>ein Gast mit fachlichem Bezug ins Teaching Kitchen eingeladen<\/strong>. Vorab werden Rezepte mit den G\u00e4sten abgestimmt und vorbereitet, die einen inhaltliche \u00dcberlappung mit dem Fachgebiet des Gastes haben. W\u00e4hrend der Veranstaltung werden diese Rezepte live vor der Kamera gemeinsam mit dem Gast zubereitet. W\u00e4hrenddessen findet zwischen Gast und Gastgeber*innen ein kurzweiliges Gespr\u00e4ch statt, in dem zum einen fachlich \u00fcber die professionelle Perspektive des Gastes diskutiert wird und zum anderen ein kulinarischer Talk \u00fcber die Rezepte sowie \u00fcber Tipps und Tricks in der K\u00fcche stattfindet. However, there is a <strong>significant discrepancy<\/strong>between actual consumption and the consumption levels recommended by key nutrition organizations. In order to promote this transformation towards a more legume-based diet, the planned research project aims to <strong>identify potential dietary pathways <\/strong><strong>through which consumers can make the transition from a diet based <\/strong><strong>primarily on animal protein to one based more heavily on legumes.<\/strong>.<\/p><p>To achieve this goal, a 36-month project duration with five work packages is planned.<\/p><p>In the <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">first work package<\/span> a systematic literature review will be conducted to review the current state of research on consumption patterns and preferences in the area of plant-based protein sources. The aim is to identify key findings and existing research gaps.<\/p><p>The <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">second work package<\/span> comprises two empirical online studies, each with n=1000 respondents. The first study will take stock of current legume consumption. At the same time, relevant target groups will be identified.<\/p><p class=\"translation-block\">As part of the <span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">third work package<\/span>, longitudinal scanner data from research partner Edeka will be analyzed to understand purchasing decision-making processes for legumes.\nThe first subproject will examine the extent to which initial purchases develop into repeat purchases and ultimately into habitual consumption. The second subproject will also analyze the role played by sustainability features (e.g., organic labels) and price promotions. The results from work packages 1 to 3 will be brought together in an integrative synthesis (WP4).<\/p><p><strong>The aim is to develop evidence-based recommendations for action and strategies to promote legume consumption<\/strong>.<\/p><p>The <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">fifth work package<\/span> covers organizational project coordination and science communication measures for knowledge transfer in practice and science. Ursachen hierf\u00fcr liegen in der r\u00fcckl\u00e4ufigen Verwendung von jodiertem Speisesalz und in ver\u00e4nderten Ern\u00e4hrungsgewohnheiten wie dem zunehmenden Verzicht auf Lebensmittel tierischer Herkunft. <strong>Bereits ein moderater Jodmangel kann gravierende Auswirkungen auf die Gesundheit haben<\/strong>.<\/p><p>Vor diesem Hintergrund verfolgt dieses Teilprojekt das Ziel, einen neuen Ansatz zur <strong>Verbesserung der aliment\u00e4ren Jodzufuhr<\/strong> zu entwickeln, der die bestehenden Prophylaxema\u00dfnahmen sinnvoll erg\u00e4nzt. Im Fokus stehen dabei <strong>pflanzliche Milchalternativen auf Haferbasis<\/strong>, die durch agronomische Biofortifikation vergleichbar jodreich wie Kuhmilch werden sollen. Das methodische Instrumentarium f\u00fcr diese Verfahrenstechnik soll im Rahmen des dreij\u00e4hrigen Forschungsprojekts in Kooperation mit der Hochschule Osnabr\u00fcck (HSOS), dem Deutschen Institut f\u00fcr Lebensmitteltechnik e. V. (DIL) sowie assoziierten Partnern aus Forschung und Wirtschaft entwickelt werden.<\/p><p>Hierzu ist \u00fcber drei Vegetationsperioden eine <strong>Serie von Feldversuchen im landwirtschaftlichen Versuchsbetrieb<\/strong> der HSOS und auf externen Versuchsfl\u00e4chen geplant, um den Einfluss verschiedener Jodd\u00fcngungsstrategien, von Standort- und Witterungsbedingungen sowie der Sortenwahl auf den Jodgehalt in Hafer zu untersuchen. Ferner soll gepr\u00fcft werden, inwieweit die <strong>Jodbiofortifikation zur Verbesserung der Stickstoffnutzungseffizienz und der Widerstandsf\u00e4higkeit<\/strong> <br \/>von Haferpflanzen gegen\u00fcber biotischem Stress (Befall mit pilzlichen Schaderregern) und abiotischem Stress (Trockenheit) beitragen kann.<\/p><p>Seitens des DIL wird analysiert, wie sich das Metabolom zwischen jodbiofortifizierten und herk\u00f6mmlichen Hafer unterscheidet. Von besonderem Interesse sind Ver\u00e4nderungen im Gehalt wertgebender Inhaltsstoffe wie Beta-Glucanen und Proteinen. Zur Herstellung der haferbasierten Milchalternativen gilt es, die Prozessierung so zu optimieren, dass m\u00f6glichst ein hoher Anteil des biofortifizierten Jods aus dem Korn und ggf. auch aus den Spelzen verwertet wird und bei der Haltbarmachung durch Ultrahocherhitzung erhalten bleibt. Hierzu sind am DIL entsprechende Versuche im Technikumsma\u00dfstab geplant. Kern ist die <strong>Entwicklung einer netzwerk- bzw. graph-basierten Datenstruktur<\/strong>, die Akteure, Prozesse und Ressourcenstr\u00f6me von der landwirtschaftlichen Urproduktion bis hin zu Konsumorten wie Gro\u00dfk\u00fcchen oder Tafeln integriert.<\/p><p>Dadurch werden komplexe Abh\u00e4ngigkeiten entlang der Wertsch\u00f6pfungsketten sichtbar und k\u00f6nnen systematisch analysiert werden. Methodisch kommen insbesondere<a href=\"https:\/\/distill.pub\/2021\/gnn-intro\/\"><strong> Graph Neural Networks (GNN)<\/strong> <\/a>zum Einsatz. Diese KI-Methoden erm\u00f6glichen es, Muster in hochkomplexen Netzwerken zu erkennen und Szenariosimulationen durchzuf\u00fchren. Sie liefern im Gegensatz zu klassischen Black-<br \/>Box-Algorithmen nachvollziehbare Ergebnisse \u2013 ein entscheidender Vorteil f\u00fcr den Austausch mit Wissenschaft, Politik und Praxis. Erg\u00e4nzt wird dieser Ansatz durch klassische Modellierungen wie \u00d6kobilanzen und Costbenefit-Szenarien. Der Mehrwert des Projekts liegt darin, Schnittstellenprobleme und Ineffizienzen in der Distribution zu identifizieren. So k\u00f6nnen Ressourcenfl\u00fcsse gezielt verbessert und ein Beitrag zu einem zukunftsf\u00e4higen Ern\u00e4hrungssystem geleistet werden. Behandelt werden exemplarisch folgende gesellschaftlich relevante Leitfragen: <\/p><ul><li>Welche \u00f6kologischen, \u00f6konomischen und logistischen Effekte h\u00e4tte eine Direktbelieferung von Gro\u00dfk\u00fcchen durch lokale Erzeuger?<\/li><li>Welche \u00f6kologischen, (sozio)\u00f6konomischen und logistischen Effekte h\u00e4tte die Ver\u00e4nderung der Warenstr\u00f6me f\u00fcr die Tafel als Teil der Zweitverwertung?<\/li><li>Welche \u00f6kologischen Effekte h\u00e4tte die Ver\u00e4nderung der Konsumanforderungen in der Ern\u00e4hrungsumgebung st\u00e4dtischer Regionen f\u00fcr die Produktion?<\/li><\/ul><p>\u00a0<\/p><p><strong>LeGreNi<\/strong> kombiniert agrarwissenschaftliche, ern\u00e4hrungswissenschaftliche Kompetenzen mit dem Fachwissen der angewandten Informatik und leistet damit einen Beitrag zur ZERN-Agenda: Landwirtschaft in funktionierenden \u00d6kosystemen zu unterst\u00fctzen, regionale Ern\u00e4hrungswirtschaft im globalen Kontext zu denken sowie Ern\u00e4hrungssysteme zukunftsf\u00e4hig aufzustellen.<\/p><p>Erwartete Ergebnisse sind ein <strong>digitales Modell des nieders\u00e4chsischen Ern\u00e4hrungssystem inkl. Szenarioanalysen und Empfehlungen f\u00fcr die Politik- und Praxisgestaltung<\/strong>. Damit liefert LeGreNi sowohl anwendungsorientierte Grundlagenforschung als auch Transfer-Instrumente in Niedersachsen. Dabei wird auf ein breites <strong>Netzwerk an Forschungspartnern<\/strong> zur\u00fcckgegriffen, u.a. auf Praxispartner wie dem Studierendenwerk OS, den G\u00f6ttinger K\u00fcchenbetrieben, den nieders\u00e4chsischen Tafeln inkl. Strategien, die auf Willenskraft abzielen, vernachl\u00e4ssigen den starken Einfluss der <strong>Ern\u00e4hrungsumgebung<\/strong>, die f\u00fcr die Umstellung der Ern\u00e4hrung auf die &#8222;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.thelancet.com\/journals\/lancet\/article\/PIIS0140-6736(25)01201-2\/fulltext\">Planetary Health Diet<\/a>&#8220; von entscheidender Bedeutung ist. Die institutionelle Verpflegung, insbesondere in Mensen, erweist sich als wirkungsvoller, struktureller Hebel, da Managemententscheidungen einiger weniger Akteure eine gro\u00dfe Gruppe von Menschen wirksamer beeinflussen k\u00f6nnen als Ver\u00e4nderungen auf Haushaltsebene. <\/p><p>Der \u00dcbergang zur Universit\u00e4t stellt eine wichtige Lebensphase dar. Studierende gewinnen an Autonomie, sind jedoch mit Zeit-, Budget- und Kochbeschr\u00e4nkungen konfrontiert, was oft zu einer schlechteren Ern\u00e4hrungsqualit\u00e4t f\u00fchrt. Universit\u00e4tskantinen\/ Mensen bieten erschwingliche, sozial verankerte Mahlzeiten an und sind damit ein wichtiger Ort, an dem sich fr\u00fche Gewohnheiten bilden. Allerdings <strong>befinden sich die Erkenntnisse dar\u00fcber, wie sich die Ern\u00e4hrung von Studierenden entwickelt und wie institutionelle Umgebungen diese beeinflussen, noch in den Anf\u00e4ngen<\/strong>, auch in Niedersachsen.<\/p><p>Bestehende Forschungsergebnisse sind oft veraltet, querschnittartig und lassen eine Integration von Kaufdaten und Umfragen vermissen. Das Projekt StuDiet schlie\u00dft diese L\u00fccken, indem es L\u00e4ngsschnittdaten zur <strong>Ern\u00e4hrung von Studienanf\u00e4ngern an zwei Universit\u00e4ten<\/strong> erhebt. Es integriert Umfragedaten, Kantinenums\u00e4tze und qualitative Erkenntnisse, um zu verstehen, <strong>wie pers\u00f6nliche und institutionelle Ern\u00e4hrungsumgebungen miteinander interagieren<\/strong>. Das Projekt gliedert sich in vier Arbeitspakete:<\/p><p>(1) Panelbefragungen zur Verfolgung von Ern\u00e4hrungsumstellungen und zur Identifizierung gef\u00e4hrdeter Untergruppen;<\/p><p>(2) qualitative Analysen des Ern\u00e4hrungsverhaltens von Studentenhaushalten, einschlie\u00dflich Zubereitung und Abfall;<\/p><p>(3) fortgeschrittene Analysen, die Umfragen mit Kantinenkaufdaten verkn\u00fcpfen, Vorhersagemodelle und einen Prototyp eines Empfehlungssystems f\u00fcr ges\u00fcndere Entscheidungen entwickeln;\u00a0<\/p><p>(4) eine Zusammenfassung umsetzbarer Empfehlungen.<\/p><p>Durch die zun\u00e4chst triangulierte Auswertung quantitativer und qualitativer Daten werden im Rahmen des Projekts datengest\u00fctzte Ma\u00dfnahmen wie <strong>Nudges, Neugestaltung von Speisepl\u00e4nen und Policy Briefs f\u00fcr institutionelle Caterer<\/strong> zusammengestellt und gemeinsam entwickelt. Verschiedene Anpassungsma\u00dfnahmen k\u00f6nnten diesen Herausforderungen entgegenwirken. Beispielsweise k\u00f6nnen<\/p><p>(i) tiefwurzelnde H\u00fclsenfr\u00fcchte kosteng\u00fcnstig Stickstoff liefern und die Unterbodenstruktur verbessern,<\/p><p>(ii) eine reduzierte Bodenbearbeitung kann zur Anpassung an Wasserknappheit beitragen und<\/p><p>(iii) eine erh\u00f6hte R\u00fcckf\u00fchrung organischer R\u00fcckst\u00e4nde kann die N\u00e4hrstoffverf\u00fcgbarkeit und die Oberbodenstruktur verbessern.<\/p><p>Die <strong>Wirksamkeit solcher Ma\u00dfnahmen und ihrer Kombination h\u00e4ngt von den \u00f6rtlichen Standortbedingungen ab.<\/strong> Daher ist es notwendig, ihre Leistungsf\u00e4higkeit unter begrenzter N\u00e4hrstoff- und Wasserversorgung unter repr\u00e4sentativen, landwirtschaftlichen Bedingungen in Niedersachsen zu testen.<\/p><p>In diesem Teilprojekt sollen daher die <strong>Auswirkungen einer Mischung aus tiefwurzelnden Pflanzen und Leguminosen als Deckfr\u00fcchte in einem bestehenden Zuckerr\u00fcben-Fruchtfolgeversuch in der N\u00e4he von G\u00f6ttingen<\/strong> untersucht werden. Dar\u00fcber hinaus werden Trockenstressbedingungen simuliert, indem sogenannte &#8222;Rain-out Shelter&#8220; aufgestellt werden. Ein interdisziplin\u00e4res Team aus Bodenphysikern, Bodenchemikern und Agrarwissenschaftlern wird gemeinsam an der Auswertung arbeiten.<\/p><p>Erkenntnisse \u00fcber die <strong>Auswirkungen auf die Bodenstruktur, den Wasserhaushalt, die Dynamik von organischem Kohlenstoff und Stickstoff im Boden, das Wurzelwachstum von Zuckerr\u00fcben und die agronomische Fruchtfolgebilanz<\/strong> werden zum Projektende geliefert. Dar\u00fcber hinaus werden laufende ZERN-Studien erg\u00e4nzt. Dazu geh\u00f6rt ein langfristiger D\u00fcngungsversuch, der die Auswirkungen unterschiedlicher Ernter\u00fcckstandsbewirtschaftung auf die N\u00e4hrstoffdynamik untersucht und zur Entwicklung von Bewirtschaftungsanpassungsstrategien genutzt wird.
